which substrate?????
hi i have four torts a marginated about 5years old a leo about 4years old and 2 turkish spur thigh about 3 years old (the two turkish have recently been seperated due to different sexes n male reaching sexual maturity a lil too soon) and i have tried a variety of different subststrates and cant find a suitable one apart from wood chips but as they get bigger this is no good as it doesnt soak the wee up very well tho they donnt try eat it or anything. hemp makes their legs sore?, soil n sand was extremly messy and got it thier eyes (they didnt seem to like it either)tortoise pellet things smelt n again were verymessy wen wet n hard to clena out. tortoise life (the edible brown sand stuff was awful messy n smelly too now i need something else that you can get at a decent pricce in large quantities. ive recently had my hours cut so on a budget for the time being. what is the corn cob or reptimaize stuff like? what is repti turf? help please wouold be appreciated

I think reptiturf is like green carpet but not sure, it will be on Google though. I use topsoil with no sand in it |

I use topsoil too with a little sand, it may be messy but at least it's natural and they can dig down to thermoregulate if they wish

At the moment I use a 50/50 topsoil sand mix, but i find it dries out very quickly so i am going to adjust to 70/30 and if that doesn't work i will just use topsoil, but you asked what reptiturf, it a natural substrate which is in pellet form it is safe if eaten but i think it doesn't look very nice.

no its white/cream little things i jus seen it on ebay wen looking. also has anyone tried reptimaize? also wi soil i was having to change their water every half hour if not more because they filled it up with soil???

there is something that is like a creamy brown colour too looks like kinda bitsof carpet or cardboard or something cant remember what it is called
