Because I'm not the tortoise god of the forum...

Danny simply... actually... not so simply repeated what I've said... several times.

Ed seems to rub me up the wrong way (probably) without even intending to, all I did was ask 2 simple straightforward questions so that I could form my own opinion about this subject, I made it clear I wasnt agreeing or disagreeing with his opinion but some how it turned into ping pong?

How did that picture slip out onto the net

Yes I did repeat what Ed said as I whole heartedly agree with him. Though not sure why my post was any easier to get than Ed's were.

It's very simple to provide UVB lighting. But also very expensive. If you have a lot of animals that need D3 then it is so much cheaper to supplement. I have 3 parrots, 2 torts and a beardie who all need D3. I can't afford to provide UVB lighting for them all so I use supplements. Except for my beardie who is difficult to supplement. He has a UVB tube. He only has that on for a few hours a day or he hides away from it.

I do not agree with the VERY in that sentence.

I don't call £36 per year fixed costs very expensive. Bearing in mind that the tortoise needs the same wattage of electricity to keep it adequately warm regardless of the source of heat.

Although maybe it' tricky to get the birds, lizard and tortoises all under the one lamp at the same time.
