Default Halloween

Tonight once again I am to be dragged out witht the kids to go trick or treating. Is it just me or does anyone else hate it? Knocking on peoples doors asking for treats, more costumes to make and sugar highs to go with it.

It's my fault I suppose, I should say no but when all their friends are doing it I don't want them to feel they're missing out - and they are sooo excited about it

Anyone else going out tonight?

My usual attire as a witch should do nicely

Can't believe they had the cheek to knock Saturday night Alan, did you have your pumpkin out early?

We close the curtains, lock the doors, turn down the lights and watch TV . Good luck Bindi ... We won't be opening any doors!

I feel it is 'begging' and not for us ... a party is good fun though and we love seeing all the costumes If I allowed so many sweets in ... little Miss behaviour would go right out the window!

I agree with you about the begging thing Wendy, it does make me feel a little uncomfortable but we only knock the doors where people have pumpkins out or decorations hanging, and the schools someitmes give out posters for people to put in their windows if they don't want people knocking

On the estate where we live it's a big thing. Most houses are decorated and all the kids go out. We get people from all over the area coming to our estate as they know we do it in a big way, parents turn up with car loads of kids. Everyone gets sweets ready and the kids come back with loads of goodies. It's like a big street party with large groups of kids and adults all chatting and having fun. I love it, chatting with neighbours while the kids all enjoy themselves in safety. If someone can't take their kids out, there is always someone willing to let them join their "party"

We have a rule that we don't knock if the house has old people unless they have decorated the house. I must say though, there are very few houses that don't get involved. The old people enjoy seeing the kids and have as much fun as them. It's really a fun night.
