Nick i'm sooo jealous you saw Joe Strummer! I got brought up on The Clash and still love them. Been teaching my son to skank to them! I did see The Pogues a couple of years ago. He lasted the full set but it was just embarrassing. Not even funny. And surely bad luck to sing christmas songs in August? Would kill to see The Clash tho. Tut to being born too late. X

Has to be Fairytale of New York for me too, and also Chris Rea's 'Driving Home For Christmas'.

Aw power of love is 'our song'! When I had my son I had a terrible birthing experience and when they finally let me out on christmas eve that was the first song on in the car. If he'd been a girl i'd have called him frankie. Cried all the way home and still do when I hear it. Someone really was keeping the vampires from my door that night I had him X

I saw Joe Strummer live a couple of times, he's my hero. Once with the mescaleros and a couple of times wih the Pogues... Who I am going to see in Brixton tomorrow night. Apparently Mr McGowan is in fine form this year. |
