What an absolutely beautiful tortoise. She has such a superbly smooth shell. The photos are lovely.

Yeah, she is total beauty ... Now she is sleeping, so i miss her and I can't wait for the spring...
Ozric_Jonathan, thanks for intrest. Yes, we have a lot of torts in Poland, aspecially t.horsfieldis. Sadly we have also a lot of books about torts where is info that torts should lives on the flor and eats salad and chees - people belives it. I am activ in group of people who takes care about neglected, homeless tortoises. I gives them temporary home and I am loking new, good houses for them. In 90' years we had a lot cheep tortoises in zoo-stores, people were thinking that torts are no-problem pets....so almost everybody had tort... some of them are alived till now - the stronger ones And of course it is still comon to bring tortoise as a souvenir from holidays... I saw many beautiful reptiles dying because of stupid people... I'm sorry that my English is not perfect, i hope you understand what i'm writting... |

Thanks Viktoria. It's good to know that some people are trying to help the tortoises there in Poland.
We have a lot of the same problems here in the UK. In a way I can understand how that can happen in Poland but really we have no excuse for it here in the UK. I have been to Poland a couple of times, a lovely country in so many ways. And your summer weather is so much better for tortoise lovers than what we get here!
