Mixing types and rehoming
Sadly I shall have to find a new home for my 10 year old male Horsfield, Pushkin. This is due to my ill health. Is it OK to mix horsfields with other types of torts?

Oh dear sorry to hear this and hope you are ok. Its not ideal to mix any species do to different behaviours and pathogens etc. I would say especially as he is a Horsfield. Can I suggest you rehome on his own as male Horsfields will usually just bite and bite, and ram anything in sight and if he doesn't now he will do. mine only get on I think because they grew up together and tolerate each other but you can see some nasty bites on other tortoises who cant defend themselves. It is all natural but Tortoises are generally solitary creatures, so he really wont mind being loved and having the focus all on his ownsome.
