Beautiful. Ours used to do that. If you touched the cage while she was looking she'd launch a frenzied attack She was pregnant when we had her and she didn't like being handled after that as we couldn't touch her while she had her young with her. We kept one of the babies, he was so gentle xx

Becci that must have been amazing seeing little tiny babies lol

Yeh my psycho hamster launches herself at my hands as well, so you can guess that I gave up trying to train her lol, she's a happy fat little thing, loves coming out in her exercise ball at the weekends, she doesn't like a clean cage though, when I clean both her cages she madly runs around messing it all up again lol, so now I only change one at a time each week lol x

Ha ha. Yes, ours would do that.
It was lovely seeing them grow, not so lovely when some were eaten and you could hear it. That was a bit grim while sitting in the lounge I was surprised as I'd bought a boy hamster called Ralph, I was a bit worried about his frantic behaviour one day and thought if he's still the same tomorrow I'll ring the vets, but no, he was fine after he'd given birth to 9 babies! We called her Ruby after that and kept one of her sons and called him Ralph.

Blooming heck Becci, bet that was a suprise, and how horrible eating the babies, my zebra finches have eaten their own babies before, either that or thrown the not so good out of the nest. Animals can be cruel to their young but its survival of the fittest and parents will choose the strongest to rear as they have a better chance of survival, still horrible though x
