My adult female Hermanns also display this behaviour. It is at its peak when I first transfer them to their summer enclosure. I think its related to dominance and territory. I've also heard of females doing this when they are carrying eggs and looking for a nest site but I've not seen that with mine.

I have an eggy female at the moment, who is mounting the male and the other females. All my females do the same when they are eggy.
