Question 5 days or 7?

i was told when i got my horsfields tortoise that i only needed to feed him 5 days out of 7, is this correct?when it comes to the days i dont feed him (thursday and sunday)he looks at me as though hes starving,making me feel awful!

I have read on here awhile ago, someone mentioned a day when he/she did not feed, i have never done this indoors, but when Hermans are out they have days when they eat very little.

I have heard this too to prevent over-feeding. I have also been told to not be too strict with the time your lights are on and the time you feed during the day because they become too dependant on routine.
It makes sense as in the wild they eat when they can.
