Default -IMPORTANT- NITRATES

Hello,
I've seen on e-bay in some auctions descriptions that some sellers are selling their weed seeds ( F.E. CLOVER) telling you that those plants are rich in NITRATES...
Have you any idea of what NITRATES ARE????
NITRATES ARE IMPLICATED IN STOMACH CANCERS!!!!!!!!
Some plants as dandelion, milk thistle, chicory are "nitrogen sponge" indeed are actually used to "clean up " the soil of nitrates... if you are planning to seed weeds, PLEASE, use only unfertilized soils!

WHEN GROWN ON NITROGEN RICH SOILS; ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN FED WITH CHEMICAL FERTLIZERS THESE PLANTS CAN CONCENTRATES NITRATES IN THE LEAVES!!!!!!!

THESE WEEDS ARE SAFE ONLY WHEN GROWN IN UNENRICHED SOILS!!!

When you keep tortoises you dont use chemicals, so not a problem.
