Meet George
This is George that I am re-homing in a couple of weeks time, his shell is well deformed the poor thing but his owners are devastated that this happened but l could tell they loved him very much. I think what has happened is that the growth has been to fast as it had access to cat food also she started life in a viv anyway her new outdoor enclosure is nearly finished now and she will be fed on a weed diet. Ive bought some weed seeds from SW and also got some from a lovely lady on another forum to get me started, the seeds are popping through now so hopefully there will be plenty in there in a couple of weeks time.
The lady told me George is a Spur Thighed and has give me the paperwork and she has owned him from being a hatchling almost 9 years ago. We are pretty sure she is an Spur Thighed Ibera and after examining him I think he is a she lol. She has never been hibernated in her life but I plan on hibernating her. Anyway Ill keep you upto date on what happens with more photos along the way. You can see here the beak is a little long but hopefully feeding from a paving stone and having some cuttle fish it might improve, if not a visit to the vets. |

Living in a viv would not have caused or contributed to her deformity. My 2 year old, also an Ibrea, lives in a viv and her growth is fine. Not sure what has caused her growth to be like that but it looks like, at some point, she stopped growing outwards and just went up.
George is cute and with the right diet and care she will thrive in your care.

Good to see her going to such a caring home, I also think George is a Georgina, I would perhaps have her beak trimed by a vet.
