Great idea! Hopefully, the group will get a chance to do Darwin's famous circular walk around the woodland surrounding the house. It is said, that this is where he developed so many of his thoughts, before he committed them to paper?
You never know, it might spark a few more interesting thoughts, and who knows a couple of books!! |

Wendy, yes indeed, a very good meeting which I am sure was very much appreciated by all those who came.
Sorry that I had to dash off prior to the end of the Kid's club. Well done, and very many thanks for all your hard work. Sandy too did stirling work showing her Tortoises and delightful hatchlings. |

Talking of sponsoring an egg - my daughter presented her teacher with the Galapagos Conservation Trust Tortoise Club for Schools membership (I bought it for the class - we didnt win the raffle!). My daughter and her friends who were at the meeting think they are getting the giant tortoise egg in class and will have a Lonesome George look-a-like by Christmas One of their friends who did not go to the meeting did not want to adopt the egg as she felt the class would have to pay for any vet bills if it got sick and she wasn't doing that! They were so upset when I explained what 'adopting an egg' was about as they wanted a giant tortoise at school in their class (They are only 8yrs old!)
