how long is too long when we talk claws?
I have rehomed an elderly tort who wasn't looked after that well and spent most of its time on grass. I can't seem to find online about claw length. To me the front claws look super long. They curl right around and touch his legs. So when he walks he is waking on his claws. I am a complete newbie but in love and wanting to make sure my forever tort has a wonderful new home with me. Help!

If the claws are curling right round and touching the skin then it sound like they could do with a trim , but if we could see a pic we could give you a better idea.

I have just seen your other thread that has a facial close up of the tort and if that is the claw that is visible underneath then they are too long!!

as soon as I saw the tort I thought they looked way too long. I really don't want to cut them myself. I would be so scared. I also didn't want to take her/him to the reptile vet local to me this soon as I wanted Jaws to settle ... but it must be so uncomfortable this tort has spent the past 40 plus years in a garden with minimum care. Poor old tort

Can you post a pic of the claws so we can see the extent of the problem?
