Hello
Brett from Co Mayo,Ireland, looking into getting a Hermann tortoise for myself and the daughter, been doing alot of research, and will be building the tortoise table in the coming weeks, will see if I can get hold of a bookshelf the size need for the stand it will go on, if not it will be a free build from scratch (got good experience from building 2 chicken houses and pens the last couple of years, yes I have chickens too ). Going to use soil and sand mix as substrate prob a 50/50 mix with a uv tube and heat lamp, with a ceramic tile turned upside down for basking. Next job involves looking into what plants I can grow for food, I've started to look around for Hermann breeders (planning to get one in just over 2 months) but struggling to find any, if anyone knows pls let me know, I would rather buy from a breeder than a shop. Found one local garden centre with some adult looking hermanns for 300 euro (I know this is too pricey) Thx Brett |
