sorry do tend to go on but thats what i have been like since getting Sheldon ha
i can understand your problem , you need to use a bigger basking bulb to start with , also if you set up a ceramic bulb set on a stat for night time you will find this solves the problem

thankyou.i will get a basking bulb tomorrow which is 100 watts and will look at ceramic heaters and timers.i am presuming i can get these from the shelled warriors

You might want to consider a nice halogen, a nicer light for the tort IMO.

Something like the sylvania range - I like the flood ones. Not so intense as the spot halogens as it spreads the heat a bit more in a range.

Have a look at
Lightbulbs2u.co.uk

Sylvania/screw/flood/halogens - is the ones to have a look at.
Dont forget to ensure your holder can take the wattage of the bulbs. xx

I have never thought of using a halogen bulb, how does the heat compare with a normal basking bulb do you think?

I think its a nicer light...I think Jon Osric uses them too, and RFM...
