Only just seen this thread ( been busy) but never ceases to amaze me, who ever you talk to on this subject, is that we the people of GB seem to understand what to do about it, but our " government " don't seem to have a clue.

I see on the news today that people who have never worked in UK are able to get EHIC cards, get medical treatment in their own country then that country claims it back off the UK. You couldn't make it up..
The NHS is potentially vulnerable to fraud due to loopholes in the issuing of European Health Insurance cards, the Department of Health has admitted. An investigation by the Daily Mail found people who had never worked in Britain were able to obtain a free EHIC card in the UK, the paper says. Health services abroad were then able to claim back the costs of their treatment from the UK authorities. The government said it would look urgently at tightening the system. |

When they all get back from their holidays they might but I'm sure they won't rush themselves. |

maybe the id card should have been bought in, perhaps that could have been made more tamper proof and I for one wouldn't have minded carrying one I have nothing to hide. We have passports and have just renewed them but more for a means of id than to use abroad but a id card may have been easier.

I see from the news this is now a massive massive problem for not just us but all over Europe. That sad picture of the dead little boy being carried out from the sea was awful. I just think the only way is all the European countries will have to set up refugee camps to cope. Germany I think is already doing it..I think we have no choice here (nor the other European countries) but to do the same xx

soul destroying. This is what the butterfly effect does. Worse when we turn the other way to depravation and megalomaniacs. Hope all well with you Rach, CB

I saw that picture too, it was horrible and makes you think, but again WHY do it, they were in the safety of Turkey yet still putting themselves at risk to make the hop, I read Cameron is now saying we will help but only taking people directly from the Sirian borders not those that are already in Europe, well at least we know these are the people that do need the help.
It still gets to me though seeing all these photos, mostly men, why havent the men helped the women and children escape |
