yep, that was us, I wish I had said hello now. ( you had blonde hair too??) the paths were very slipy and steep in places. How annoying were the wasps, really didnt help as I was stung recently and wasnt gonna let that happen to us.

It was a great day out!

Henk Zwartepoorte gave two fascinating presentations about the work of the European Studbook Foundation, and the Conservation project of Prof Hermann Schleich: ARCO, in South East Nepal. This very worthwhile project aims to restore a wetland habitat, and provide an "in situ" breeding programme for at least four species of native Chelonian.
However, the project requires funding and needs $35,000.00 to complete. Prof Schleich, has a great reputation and runs a very successful project in Southern Spain too.

Brilliant day, very informative and well organised. For those whom attended, the decision to book their place for 2014 is a very easy tick!
Tortoise welfare UK are setting standards that are high and of great value to the hobby of Tortoise keeping.
Venue, sponsors and organisers should be very well pleased with the results of their efforts!!

Dr Ryan Walker, a real life "Shelled Warrior", flew in from the USA to give an excellent talk on his work and experiences with three of the four endemic Tortoise species from Madagascar. These are of course, some of the most threatened species of Tortoise in the world.
