I had a tube put into a Chaco... went 6 months before the tortoise pulled it out. I'm sure that is what saved the tortoise life. That was 3 years ago.

There has been a bit of an improvement but we have a long way to go. She had 3D X=rays today, a fresh poo test and and general checkover by the vet.

The aim is to try and support her to gain some strength and weight over the next few weeks and then see what we think.

we don't know what caused the problems and at the moment we are treating the symptoms not the cause.

But there is an improvement and the fitted tube will be a lot easier for everyone compared to doing the tube into the mouth.

If there's any major change I'll let you know

Thanks folks for your good wishes.

The patient here is showing a bit of pluck, eating some dandellion leaves. She is now on Critical Care formula which is provided direct to the gut thru the tube which you see here.

Its encouraging to see her eating by choice too. The left front leg is taped to prevent her removing the tube with it. It all looks horrible but she is not upset by the tube feeding. Its a big improvement on the tubing through the mouth

Oh Johathan looks so alarming, but she appears to be a fighter, I hope she will be OK.
