Docks and Foxgloves
Are Dock leaves and Foxgloves edible for tortoises as there is an abundance of them locally?
Thanks Louise |

Well as far as I can remeber dock leaves are fine but torts dont tend to eat them. I would have thought fox gloves were a no.

Hi Louise
Docks are edible but tortoises don't usually eat them due to there bitter taste also becareful feeding dock it has a high oxalic acid content which inhibits the tortoise from using calcium in its body. Foxglove a big NO they are very poisoness some tortoises will eat the flowers but these to are very toxic . Darren |
