It's only a heat sorce not a combined, so you would either need a seperate UV, or go for the Arcadia D3 160w, which is a combined heat and uv. Even with this, it is advised you use another light, something like a 40w/60w bulb somewhere else in the table.

I think it depends alot on table size & the warmth of the room, positioning of the table - as in near cold draughts. Arcadia does make a 100w combined bulb as well. If you have a small table a 160w might be too intense and therefore you would struggle to provide a temperature gradient for the tort to thermoregulate. However, the 160w would fair fine if raised and positioned good. It really depends on temps that you get.
In due time, it will get milder outside, and this will knock on into indoors and the enclosure/ambient room temps etc. Last edited by yuna1971; 17-02-2012 at 08:14 AM. |

If it is a small table your best bet would probably be to buy a seperate heat lamp on a dimmer and get this for uv (thats what I do) http://www.petsathome.com/shop/repti...-only%29-28289

Try Surrey Pet supplies for the bulb, holder and stand. You will want the large/standard (I think...) lampstand. You wont want the small. The holder must be able to take the wattage of the bulb. You might want to even phone them up, Birdie and just let them guide you on the best options to go with. xx

I got mine from a local pet shop for £30, but this was over 3 years ago.. you can probably pick them up on ebay for £5-£10
