i wash the weeds shake of the excess water sprinkle a very light dusting of nutrobal using a tea strainer you could always turn the weeds over so the nutrrobal is then underneath perhaps the torts wont notice it then |

There are a lot of interesting opinions on this thread about supplements and diets etc. One was that torts eat 200 different plants in the wild but I've wondered how far do torts roam, do they go on and on or stay within a certain area?
Are 200 plants available to all of them all of the time or is it just that 200 plants have been identified as plants that tortoises eat and some torts may have to make do with just a fraction of that amount while others might have a wider range available to them depending exactly where they are. I read somewhere that they might search for a few days before they find food and if that is the case then they would be more likey to eat plants that may not be as good for them but are better than nothing if that's all there happened to be. Nutrobal or Reptivite? too many vitamins or not enough? not enough calcium? Rainwater or tapwater? It's exactly the same in the world of tropical fishkeeping... Cycle or Freshstart? Algae treatment or Amano Shrimps? Juwel or Hagen? It drives you nuts when you are just starting out but with the fishkeeping I now know after many years of trial and error what works best for me and the fish and that there are many things on the market that are nothing more than a complete con |
