But Ozzy, sorry but as has been said....they DONT get colds. You keep saying about him having a cold...
If he was such a good exotics vet then he would know this, and spot the concerns of RNS.
What did he say about what needs to be done about the shell...?

The vet informed me that rns is caused by stress, and ozzy isn't stressed. There could be a number of reasons why his nose is runny, that's why he's doing tests, he says its prob just a cold but can't tell me more untill he's done tests.

Would you mind giving us the name of the vet and the location of his surgery?

As has been said before tortoises do not get colds as such, but can get respiratory infections that can manifest into something much more serious if left alone. Despite doing tests the vet should have started some kind of general treatment such as nebulising with an antibiotic to try to kill the infection inside the lungs.

What samples has he taken and what is he testing for exactly?

Ozzy isn't stressed, the vet said, so for what other reasons has he got a runny nose? Maybe he has worms, which could also cause a runny nose.
But what is a runny nose other than a cold. I even researched it and upper resperatory tract infections in tortoises can also be lablelled
As a cold. Having a cold is such a big umbrella that f things
Fall under it. If you don't think he has a cold and he is not stressed then why does he have a runny nose sometimes??

Don't mean to butt in here but i don't know where you do your research but you have got it totally wrong !, to start with they don't have a diaphragm like mammals so they cannot sneeze , you asked for advice , you have been given the facts the rest is up to you if you think they have colds thats up to you .http://www.tortoisetrust.org/article...ondisease.html take a look at this

You have had some good advice from very knowledgeable tortoise keepers and have ignored their advice. If your tortoise is sneezing, has a runny nose, no matter if it's still eating or not, it may have a repspitary infection which needs a course of antibiotics. Take advice, you posted here because you knew something was wrong so you need to take action before this turns to pneumonia and your tortoises life is at risk.
It's very treatable but best done NOW.
