Alan I take long term one a day antibiotics, I take you were on strong ones. Anyway I imagine lindas weight loss is down to medication so I wont dive out the bedroom window just yet!!!

On a serious note I have the fridge ready stocked up with salad, and not had a cig for 6 days so I can breathe again now, so there's hope

Hi Jackie

I am hoping to lose some weight, weighing in at 95kg last Wednesday 13th Jan (14st 13ibs) and 5ft 8 tall my BMI states that I am obese so my goal is to loose 21kg which is just over 3 stone.

I am following a team of people on tv losing weight over the next 8 weeks which includes specific exercises www.rte.ie/ot , walking every morning for an hour, and reduced food intake.

I am also tracking my weight, food and activity online with www.weigh2live.eu

Hopefully I will be able to keep up the new regime.

I'd love and need to loose weight but can only ever manage a few weeks then start back in the old habits and I'd be on a diet for months to loose what I need to. I'm not to bad through the day but something clicks in me at night and I have to nibble, it doesn't help leading a very boring life and its even worse in the evenings as all he wants to do is either fall asleep or watch the tv, thats why I spend so much time on here at least I'm not eating on the computer.

Hi Anne,

Water is a great for taking away hunger! Not as noice as a biscuit I must admit, but for me seeing my Dad suffer for over 12 months with a diabetic ulser under his foot is enough to give me kick up the jacksy.

Even if I dont loose the 3stone plus I am going to have a good go at getting near it.

To me diets only work if you don't have much weight to lose.

I've been on a few diets over the years, lost some weight, and then put it all back on once I've gone back to usual eating habits.

Since I've been forced to change my eating habits weights been coming off, and I feel a lot better, I now look at portion sizes, and think it looks like a huge amount of food. When I know 6 months ago, I'd be thinking that wasn't much.

Hopefully that change will stay with me, and I can get to a weight I'll be happy with, although I don't want to be thin, just closer to normal.
