My Temperature: Basking During Day-32 degrees Centigrade Cool end during day-22 degrees Centigrade Basking end During Night-25 degrees Centigrade Cool End during night-19 or 20 degrees centigrade I use during the day a 100 watt pro rep screw basking spot lamp, For UV I use a UV 10.0 tube across the whole enclosure. At night I either Use a 100 watt ceramic heater or a 60 watt Pro Rep red night spot lamp. Could someone advise me should i stop using the red spot lamp it seems quite bright I got assured by the pet shop assistant it would be fine but i will run it by you guys. It is very bright i think it might be disturbing her sleep it certainly disturbs mine. If needed I could post a picture of it lit up at night time and you could see how bright it is.

Try closing in a small area near the ceramic heater at night to bring up the night time temperatures. The daytime high can be brought up a little also.

At night time, after lights out, when the room is dark, try moving your tort under the ceramic heater with th red spot off. See if that makes a difference in the morning.
I do this with Joe and he's much better in the mornings. If there's any light, he'll just head for his shelter.

I have tortoises that have incandescent lights on 24/7 and it doesn't bother them. This tells me they are looking mainly for the heat.
