Weirdly, after you added test 2, my add of (and again) has now appeared in the title! Maybe it just needs the nod from a Mod

Unfortunately members currently can't edit titles, it's a mod permission. I'll look into seeing if it's possible for me to bodge a work around or something.

Ok - try now. It's a real bodge fix I'm afraid. There's a time limit on how long you can specify to edit titles so I've made it pretty much as long as I can, but there is still a limit.
I imagine old threads will still have the issue, however new threads will be OK for quite some time (few years or something daft). Let me know how you get on.

I think it's great that you are able to do that now, not least to sort speelign mistaicks in the titles but at the same time, how will it effect searches? I sometimes remember a thread title and then search for it but what will happen now, will it throw up the latest edit or the original title or all versions or what?

Yes I'm thinking people may not recognise a thread title from for example, a couple of days ago if it's been changed and may therefore not reply or be searching for a thread from yesterday and can't find it for the same reason. So, great idea but it will lead to problems for sure I think

Like anything new it'll probably go through a phase of being the 'in' thing to do and cause no end of bother. Then, the long standing members and mods will start to moan at the newbies to stop it and it'll settle down. Until then, batten down the hatches. This is why we only have a few carefully chosen mods!
I do think it's a useful tool for people to have, but Kelly raises a valid point in that it can be misused and it can cause problems with searches etc. Whilst I've made it available can we please not abuse this new feature else I'll have no choice but to remove it. Ta
