closed eyes
One of my Hermanns boys keeps his eyes closed most of the time. They are not discharging. He gets plenty light and heat. I've uped his vitamins and baths. When I bathed his eyes this morning he opened them slightly. He can open them but does so for the least amont of time and only a little bit. I can't see any damage and the other lad is ok. No sand in his pit just topsoil and stones. Is this something to worry about? What can I do?

I would be concerned. You could try some artificial tears to see if his eyes just need a little help to open. You can get them from the Pharmacy over the counter.

Hi Anna,
Just to rule it out can you run a heat lamp without UVB for a couple of days? Its unlikely to be lamp related but it rules it out. Bathing is good as are the tears things Helen suggested. If it persists, please see a vet, they can prescribe antibiotic ointments. |

I think he needs to go to the vet. Has he been eating? Drinking? Is he active?
