Default Formula 1, what a waste of time

I listened to a debate on radio 5 live last night after the race had been rigged by Ferrari to let Alonso win. One of the commentators said, it's against the rules but at the end of the day Ferrari were finishing in 1st and 2nd anyway so it doesn't really matter which of the two drivers is in 1st place!!!

Have you ever heard such rubbish? Formula 1 sell the rights to bookmakers to allow betting on the races, the championship winners, the manufacturers championship winners, fastest lap, winning distance in time, top 3 finish etc and this clown says it doesn't really matter!

Millions of people will have bet on the outcome of that race and have been cheated out of their winnings. Thousands of people would have paid to get in to watch and have also been cheated. It was said that one option open to the stewards was to give Alonso a time penalty which when applied would have meant he would then be placed second, this option was ignored in favour of a £60k fine which amounts to little more than a set of new tryes for one of those cars

wonder what they would do, if everyone from spectators to gamblers asked for their money back plus out of pocket expenses for wasting their time!!

I finished watching F1 a long time ago, I love MotoGP - no team rules/radios, just man machine and the occasional pit board!

Me too!!! And the best circuit was raced yesterday, Ibizathetort (what do you think?) - Laguna!!!
I gave up with Formula 1 when Ayrton Senna died. For me, it was never the same after that - it lost the excitement. The years to come it just got worse. The good old days I remember...Prost, Mansell, Piquet (Nelson Snr), and Senna - Now THAT was when it was exciting!! Who will forget Adelaide 86 (was it?) - when Mansell had that tyre blow out on the start-finish stretch .... I can still hear Murray's voice in my ears.."AND LOOK AT THAT!!!!...Thats Mansell!!! That is Nigel Mansell!" he shrieked!
Nowadays...its a boring, corrupt sport.
Moto GP - 10 times better and tighter exciting racing!!

I have no interest in F1 either, can't remember the last time I watched one. We had a F1 world champion on our doorstep too but that was from the good old days. We also had a bike legend here in recent times in Hizzy Hislop, 11 times TT champion and superbike champion but he is also gone

I like Laguna Yuna, but I do love the good old Donington circuit I agree F1 used to have lots of characters and a charm about it when there was Senna Mansell Prost Berger etc. Rossi has more charm and appeal in his little finger than the whole of F1

Did anyone see the footage on Top Gear last night of Senna in the turbo heydays - that would be a great spectacle to see again, 1200bhp turbo F1 cars and no aerodynamics!

Yeah!! Yuna likey Laguna....

Those were the good ole days...Is Berger still about?? He got burnt I remember that in some pitlane accident, if I remember right?? He was the nearly man.
But Senna was my fave. I remember reading that the other drivers would quake in their boots when they saw the yellow helmet in their mirrors!! Remember that fab race in Monaco - Senna and Mansell, photo finish - or as near as...god, thats gotta be 85?? Something like that...Blimey, that was when A-ha released Take on Me and I was still at school!!!

Have to say though getting bit bored with Rossi winning the Moto GP WC all the time....so i will be interested to see if he really does do the switch to F1...now THAT will be interesting!!
I love watching Stoner, but only as that bike...OOOOoooh, I love it - the red Ducati!!! But he looks like the spotty schoolboy that nobody talks to, doesnt he??
Al - Jim Clarke?? Showing yer age now mate!! (Wuz flares in??...maybe when that pic of you, the one with the long hair, was taken?? )
