Sky tv
We recently got Sky Tv and then a chap from the council phoned me up to say that my neighbour had complained about it and that it would have to be taken down again.
I went out and looked and found 6 other dishes out there ( I wasn't aware of this before - never noticed) I saw the chap from the council the next day but he had changed his mind by then. He did not ask for it to come down but for us to ask permission to have it in the first place. I did not know I had to ask permission but this has now been done I don't think it is in my nieghbours way, not unless he hangs off his balcony and looks right as he does so but we will have it moved But what a pathetic thing to complain about I would not complain if my neighbours had Sky (well they do and I haven't said anything) Why don't neighbours mind there on business?

You do not have to ask permission
You would if it was to overhand over some one else's property but your own? not a chance The council guy probably doesnt have a clue either.. probably jumped from falling asleep when some one complained.. Council's are majoity are joke..never give in for such rubbish.. makes you sick |

I don't know about down there but in Scotland you don't need planning permission if the dish is above your own garden but those who have no garden and the dish is fixed to the wall above a pavement require planning permission from the planning dept

I think it depends where you live in UK, and the type of property you are in. I thought it was only conservation areas, listed buildings, and some types of flats that needed permision.

I live in a flat. So maybe that's why. It's round the back so not on a pavement. And I don't know how he knew about it, he must have been in when the worker installed it. I'm sure that he can't see it from his property

In the case of flats, these limits refer to the building as a whole and not to each separate flat. If, therefore, one flat dweller has already installed a dish, planning permission is required for further installations. However, in such a case, the flat dweller may wish to examine the possibility of a shared dish
Its due to you living in a flat. |

Now that's a good idea. he is a miserable old scrotum. He never smiles or says hello. Mind you I do both to him and it really upsets him. He closes the door in my face if he sees that I'm just behind him to come in or out the front door. And he parks on the steps to my flat which annoyes me so there.

well we asked Sky to move our dish as the neighbour complained about it and after lots of phone calls and letters both to Sky and AVUK the company that installed it we have gotten absolutly no where.
Dish is still where it is, they say they can't move it anywhere else We suggested putting a bracket up on wall and they say this isn't possible because of a balcony, tree 100 yards away etc. When I pointed out that other people with Sky dishes have an even bigger wall facing them I was told "You don't understand darling that the signal comes from the sky" so why does it not come from the sky to me why does it have to go through walls and trees at my property if the dish comes down we will stop paying Sky from that minuite onwards
