It could be the name of a song...couldnt it? "We got flies in the topsoil, oh yeah...flies in the topsoil, oh yeah..."
Or a new band name...And todays number one song is "Feasting Faeces" by Flies in the Topsoil (sorry...i have no flies in mine. just had a silly moment there...) |

I think these are fungus gnats and they like damp soil and rotting vegetation, problem is that although the adult flies don't live very long they lay loads of eggs,so you will need to remove the top layer of soil to get rid of any larvae.

I have been getting this problem lately and its awful and is freaking me out
I couldn't understand where they were coming from ! weeds id picked, poo ,food or topsoil .. so this has answered my question ..its the topsoil!! ive changed it regularly but looks like I will have to change the brand this time thanks karen |
