more weed ID
Hi, I finally managed to go on a weed hunt and I need help with these two weeds that were in abundance in the area. I have looked at the tortoise table website, but to me its like a minefield of leaves!

Could the first picture be kidney weed?
Struggling to find anything that resembles the second picture! Help greatly needed for a newbie, thanks.

Hiya really not sure on these two - top one looks like it might be too tall for kidney weed
http://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/s...main&catID=707 Wondered about "jack by the hedge" - does it smell of garlic when you rub the leaves No idea on the second one, almost looks like a fern of some sort. Hopefully someone will be along soon who recognises them

OK, so is the first one edible if it is Jack by the hedge?
And I guess I will stay away from the second, just in case. Thanks guys.

Jack by the hedge is edible. I'm not convinced that photo 1 is it though.

I agree with Emma as photo 1 doesn't look like Jack by the Hedge to me either.

1 is possibly wild violet. It's growing like mad this year, getting really big. Not sure on 2, that one always eludes me.

2 looks like wild carrot which isn't edible but it also looks like other stuff too none of which is edible.
1 looks familiar but can't remember what it is, can't think that it's edible either. Not jack by the hedge |
