Quick update - this tortoise is readily eating saturated dried grass pellets. It seems the fully soaked pellets are supporting fluid as well as bulk intake. She gets these only in the evening and has fresh natural food which is still not being taking with much interest for now - the pellets impact is already visible in the eyes which are much less sunken. Will continue to balance these pellets with natural until she has a balanced weight and then withdrew them.
Jonathan the tip is working, at least for now ... - thanks |

that's good news Tarpon, and welcome to the site. sometimes you just cant tell what's going on but if sunken eyes I would say dehydrated a little (and can be a undiagnosed condition) and it happens as we don't always see them drink. and then sometimes a downhill spiral but she seems to picked up which is good.! we are always learning on here so please do post more and pickys would be fabulous !
