The way i understand it with dealing with defra is, a10's are only issued for comercial activity , its not a licence to keep a protected animal !, as some people think , if you have a tortoise thats over 100mm you do not need to get it changed or chipped UNLESS you are going to breed from it , swop or sell . If however you intend to keep it for none comercial gain ie: keep it as a pet you don't need to do anything. I would advise however you keep the a10 in a safe place as proof of the animal being aquired legally if you where ever asked.
