Default Slow cooker recipes...

I was thinking it would be nice to share some slow-cooker recipes...

This week has been such a stressful week out most of the day, back home late with the kids then so knackered and brain frazzled that I cant even face cooking a main meal....

I usually use the slow cooker when its a packed day, and this time of year is also ideal...but I would love some new dishes...

If anyone has any......that they are willing to share, then feel fee to start adding to this thread and reports back on a five star system would be great also

Thank you x

I love using the slow cooker for Pork, it really does make it tender and very much like lamb when flaky....This is a nice recipe..I will add on many of mine that have been tried and tested, and I will be adding in the new additions here Thank you Linda for the recipes, it sounds like a very yummy meal.

Apple glazed pork
INGREDIENTS
4 lb. pork loin roast
6 apples
1/4 cup apple juice
3 T. brown sugar
1 t. ginger, ground

DIRECTIONS
Rub roast with salt and pepper. Brown pork roast in a pan to remove excess fat; drain well. Core and quarter the apples. Place apple quarters in the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the roast on top of apples. Combine apple juice, brown sugar, and ginger. Spoon this over the surface of roast, moistening well. Cover and cook on Low for 10-12 hours, until done

Enjoy

My favourite dish in the slow cooker is lamb cubes cooked in strongbow (or any cider really) honey and rosemary....just mix a few cups of strongbow with a tablespoon of honey to each cup and add quite a bit of rosemary and a cup of water...then when the lamb has cooked through drain the juice and make a cider gravy with the juice....yum yum!!!

I dont have a slow cooker, but do have an Aga, so kinda does the same job, love leaving stews, chili's and mince dishes in there. So nice to get home and all you have to do is serve it up!
