Rubbish weather
Some of you keepers down south have had tons of great weather this year but up here we had at most two weeks that were nice and the rest of the time it's been really poor. Quite often dull conditions with temps of 13C for days at a time.
I've had to rotate my tortoises, even the larger ones, with sessions indoors. Otherwise they would be slowing right down in spite of the help I give them outside. June is often the best month here and that's finished obviously. July is often wet. Fed up with it!!

Rain what's that? Sorry Jonathan that the weather has been so poor with you and fingers crossed it improves for the rest of the summer and it cools down just a tad down here in the South.

Jonathan I do feel sorry for you especially as we seem to be having the best summer in a while. Having said that, it is so hot on some days the torts just go into the shade, so I haven't seem much of them for days, other than a peek at me through the foliage.
The downside is the weeds are not growing and everything is so dry. I'm on holiday this week so the warm evenings are perfect and life feels good. Not going anywhere as our other problem is traffic, just popping to the shops occasionally for supplies as a glass of Prosecco is just perfect. Anybody else like the Tour de France and Wimbledon?

It's cloudy here today if it's any consolation, Jonathan.
The torts have been spoiled with the weather, it has to be said. I've ensured my adult son has to water all the plants, flowers and weed patch every evening before he heads off out, so no trouble with finding weeds here. I used to love Wimbledon, Jan, but the games aren't what they used to be with so many aces and only a short rally between players. I was a fan of Lance Armstrong and read his autobiographies and watched him in the Tour de France, but it lost its appeal when he admitted to the doping. Such a letdown as I thought he was truly a fighter and made an amazing comeback after the cancer. No time to watch daytime TV here but I like to catch up with everything on the news.

Only people with Sky are allowed to watch any cricket on tv. It's a disgrace!
