Yes it is a polystyrene box with a lid. If you go to an aquatics/koi/garden centre fish shop they may well let you have one/sell you one.
I also heard of someone who used to ask at his local Tesco fishmonger's section for one. |

Go to your local fish shop or farm shop and ask for one, a lot will just give them for free as they get so many A lot of things are delivered in them so save one Buy one off RFUK or EBAY etc. You won't need to bring a heat pad in June providing your car isn't a freezer. I prefer polystyrene boxes to cardboard, plastic and so on because they keep in/out the heat very well and gives a good stable temp which is not so variable with the weather.

What do you think about this?
They have several sizes, so it doesn't have to be exactly this one, but one of those. It has got vent holes for air, they say that it is ideal for transport... Do you still think I should try and get the poly box, or this could do? https://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/...box-large.html |

I would personally go for a poly box, it would be cheaper even if you have to pay for it

A polybox would be better. I doubt they'd be happy in the one in the link as they would feel too exposed.
Plenty of newspaper and toilet roll as well as car journeys always seem to make them do a poo! |

I'd keep them cool and dark. They won't move then. The poly box method is a good one.

If they can see out of the box, they will want to be outside the box. Far better to have a non see though sided box:0)

I have used really small sandwich type plastic boxes with tiny holes drilled for air. I had soil in with the tortoise and I used boxes which were really quite small so the tortoise did not rattle about.
I found it really quite stressful, because I was thinking about the tortoises and if they were alright almost all the time.
