Is that 'Dock' leaf thin looking, and feels a bit thin and rubbery ..??
If it is....then its not a Dock Leaf...I think these feel quite rough, tough leaves. I think its a dandilion..there are many types you know. I think someone else will be able to tell you how many types...I think I have heard Paul say before. (Paul??) |

The dandys are ok, but only say once or twice per week. Clover is fine, plantain is excellent. Try and get some greater plantain, this is everywhere and it seems to thrive in the dry.
http://en.labs.wikimedia.org/wiki/Ad...lants/Plantain Mix all this with a little bit of Rommaine lettuce and finish with a dusting of nutrobal. Sorted. xxx |

Lets see a pic of them, but as long as none of them are ragwort....then probably ok. But hard to say without seeing what they are growing like.
How long have they been outside, and I presume in unfertilised topsoil??? In terms of weed 'growing' I am not an expert (in fact I am rubbish! ) but I think ClaireN is a good person to ask, expect she will be on during the evening or morning. I always call her the Weed Queen...but she gets all embarassed, so I wont say it...!! You wont need to walk far though Cara, to get Broadleaf plantain as believe me if you dont see it integrated in amongst grassy areas...you will find huge leaves in tall grassy dry places....Honestly, its everywhere and you never know, pick enough of it and you might get it to grow in your own garden next year!!! (If you dont already!!) See if Claire comes on about the weed growing and when its safe to feed. Or anyother weed growing experts!! Last edited by yuna1971; 06-08-2010 at 08:22 PM. |

No. 2, has the pattern in the leaf saying Red Clover, the colour tint could be the camera lighting plating trick, or it is not a healthy specimen.

Bit confused, as i know all clovers are green, red clover is the colour of the flower to call it red. Green with a white'ish pattern in the leaf. Just to check where was it picked from.
