[QUOTE=Sheli88;605115]I over winter them my personal choice they are my pets and I would hate to lose one trying to hibernate them. It's not something I would be comfortable doing.

And it's May and still freezing. It's not a shame I have happy healthy tortoises that I can enjoy all year round I don't think it's a shame I think it's a privalidge to have them. I also have kids and a dog who would be more than happy to help himself to them if they were in a table. That would be a shame.

Wales, it's been down to about 6oc, so quite cold but not freezing.
Nice and warm in my tables anyway. |

I'm up north near Hexham, been really cold here I would struggle a lot to keep my little friends warm here. Even in summer our house tends to be cool we have thick walls and sun doesn't get in much. Thankfully the garden gets sunny for them most of the time just wish the summer would hurry up.

[QUOTE=cherylahutch;605124]I can understand that. I lost one this winter. Did not survive hibernation. I have done exactly the same what I have been doing the last 9 years with both tortoises and this is the first year that one did not survive. For me that's one too many. I am not sure if I want to ever again hibernate my tortoises.
