I suppose another worry about spaghnum moss is if there's an odd bit and they ingest it...that sort of worried me, have to say. xx

I believe that is shredded coconut hulls. I use that for frogs and snakes which like it moist.

That would be good stuff for a tortoise hide as long as it is kept damp. Otherwise it gets real dusty.

If you give gentle heat at night then you should get correct humidity hopefully

Thanks. Someone told me that it was dangerous... Have to say though it doesn't look particularly easy for them to chew or swallow. But then again, why would they be attracted to it anyhow. There's no real smell, apart from an earthy type dampy smell.xx

I've had tortoises try it and spit it out. The attraction is that it is green in color when it is wet.

Is it true Ed, that greens and reds , the more primary colours , they see better?? I also think White is another one... But green you are right, I do see Lily attracted to that. But also red, yellow, White. I wish I could really understand what they see, and the distance that they see it..
I suppose that's why I keep a strip with full spectrum in Lilys indoor enclosure, I hope it makes a bit of difference in the strength of his vision in there. xx
