I get a bag of compost, leave it near a radiator for a few hours to take the chill off it, the fill the container, press the substrate down to compact it and slope the last few inches down towards the entrance. Place a lamp over it and it tends to have the desired effect.

Thanks Kirkie that looks just the right kind of thing.Will investigate and get ready.She's calmer today,tummy has stabilised,and pink flush almost gone.I'm definitely going to be prepared though.I thought she hadn't laid last year then found the eggs buried really deep when I dug her sister's up.She must have laid in April-outside!-last year,which is why I'm expecting the same this year.
