combi bulbs
hi
we have a combi holder for our tort just want to make sure which combi bulb would be best there is so many out there to buy , at the moment we are using a solar glow 160w ???? also bought a daylight spot 150w only as it was much cheaper but not too sure of the difference ???? thanks |

The holder has to be able to handle the wattage of the bulb, which holder is it. A solar glow 160w is a combined that is heat and uvb, the spot is just a light/heat bulb.

ah okay its a big one 200w a think it takes will double check ,, so stick with the solar glow then this bulb was £25 is that about right ,

Blimey.... that's a big a** bulb! Wouldn't have thought you would need that for standard sized table. Maybe if it's possible - Reconsider your choice of bulb. The Arcadia 160w or the Mega Ray 120w or 160w - much better choices and much better quality of UV output. Read some of the posts in the housing section - you will see what I mean. xx

ye will do will have a look, it is big was the one we were advised to buy ???? as long as the heat from its it he will be okay aye ?? will go look at they bulbs the now thanks ,,,

Tell you what you won't go far wrong with the Arcadia combined bulbs.
Don't forget though, the holder must be able to handle the wattage of the bulb. You probably will need a large lampstand. I think on one of the latest housing threads, I posted up some links to the stands & type of holder for these bulbs. Always follow the height min/max restrictions. This will be on the box or an instructions leaflet inside. And always have it pointing vertically downwards, never at an angle. Hope this helps you |

I dont know what I was talking about now...ahh yes, yes...I thought it was a bulb. Still...I wouldnt bother with a SG if you can get an Arcadia. xx
