Sandra is a boy!
Just found out this morning that Sandra is a boy!!!
Something ugly appeared from her/his tail!!!! Nearly gave me a heart attack lol

If you check through the posts on sexing you will find that females have a similar organ to the male. Flashing is not a sure sign as evidence of a male in younger tortoises.

Oh, I don't know... the male organ is pretty enormous. The girls can flash but it's more like a cowboy hat and is less alarming.

It depends on how big the animal is. The point I'm making is that both sexes have the same organ. Adult males do have the bigger and more useful tool.

My female hermanns has flashed a few times....i thought she was male when she first did it!
she's definatly Female though as shes laid eggs!! |
