Default Tortoise enclosure mk2 - Pic heavy

Well, our boys are growing, and following the really bad (and long) winter - where we had them locked in, we have decided to upgrade their enclosure, both inside and out.

In essence, doubling their internal space and expanding their outside space too.

This is what they currently have - somewhat overgrown now

The outside space we are expanding into is along the centreline (ish) of the existing paving...
So, first job wilful destruction of our path

Over half a ton of sand removed

Because we're not relocating the torts whilst we do the upgrade, I needed to replace bits of their enclosure at a time - so firstly, the end plank comes down.

We're changing to the tall log roll, basically to future proof it for when the little escape artists hone their skills.

In the meanwhile - the boys kept themselves entertained...

So, up to today and I managed to get a few more panels up, you can see the sort of shape we're going to end up with.
I've also used a small amount of postcrete just to hold the logroll spikes in place a little firmer as our garden is built on rubble

And finally, it doesn't end there... as their new house turned up today too! Woo Hoo!!

Delivery was interesting, as he wouldn't help me get it into the garden as it would take too long

I had to remove the roof, and removed my brand new gate, and gate stops and even then it only squeezed through with 10mm space either side was a bit bloody close!.

Anyway, all in the garden now, and I've started to plumb in some of the electrics already.
Really chuffed with it though, the quality is first class - I am going to have to do some remedial work on it though, it'll need a porch to stop the rain coming in, and maybe a small draft excluder for them to push through, but will stop the wind coming in.

I'll keep this updated as we progress

Hey that looks fantastic, bet you cant wait to get them set up in it, so the insulation is all done for you and is a good job. How much did it all cost, if you dont mind me asking, you can pm me the cost if you like, just interested for future for when i need to set up an insulated shed for my boys.

The tortoise shed i purchased from them cost me £165 (i think) and that was with the little extra bits i asked them to include, but no insulation...i had to bloody do that myself lol x

Yep, I asked them to do the insulation for me too, you can see the thickness here:
