Thanks, we've gone through the gardenbuildingsdirect website and came close to looking at one of the 'bunny' houses, but then that one at Argos is cheaper for something which looks the same.

I will say though, I've not seen those double dog houses before, and you can change the door size to suite - they look great!!.
I think cleaning out will be a bit of a pain though

Hiya, I have a 5ft high playhouse for my 2 adults and a 4ft high kennel from Northumberland joinery, it was a back breaking chore to insulate and set up inside, but I could get in there, now it's all set up I only need to bend down to clean inside not get inside, I find heating and lighting smaller sheds/kennels of the sizes I mentioned better financially and don't take much to keep them warm inside, which is why I went for 2 smaller sheds as apose to one larger that you can walk into and cost more to heat x

Wow!, I love the tortoise house - that would be good just a bit bigger (but no extra height).

I'll send him a mail

I don't mean to sound funny but if you don't hibernate then why not simply bring the torts inside the house to a table during the winter, the base size isn't much different and you won't need to worry about heating something outside. Your outside house could just be used during the summer, I also think it would be a lot lighter in a house room and not so stuffy, a small outside house without being open would get a bit stale I'd imagine. I assume the air is one reason why most who keep their torts awake during the winter either have a larger building such as a shed or do as I suggested bring them inside.

its says in the first post that its used all year round and I think the torts are just in the house through the winter and not hibernated. I know there are plenty who have tables or use the floor in sheds but not in a smaller kennel type house for the entire winter, I just imagine that in a small enclosed space with the heat and animal etc the air would get pretty stuffy and even smelly, even torts in a viv do sometimes get out or have the door open, you couldn't do that in the middle of the winter in rain/snow etc.

Just read the ops first post again and he did say he will be using it all winter and yes I agree with you, I couldn't keep mine all winter in their kennel/shed for exactly that reason x
