My Back hurts so much this morning

I must say, there is a lot of focus on my waterfall, but unless I'm being a bit oblivious, I don't see what the issue is
It's high sided, there is no standing water, and in the last enclosure they used to love just sitting in underneath the flow.

I'll keep a close eye on them before I decide to rip it out.

Now my reply doesn't make sense

In all seriousness though, I'd like some constructive feedback, you mentioned (before you deleted it) they'd fall on their back and drown in the water, but there is no standing water and the waterfall gives about a 2mm depth of flow.

I would genuinely like to understand what the concerns are, I'm not looking for a debate (or vanishing posts), but I would appreciate genuine areas I can address (short of removing the whole lot!!).

No, that is not what I put in my post, although I did say that one of mine was found upside down in the water bowl recently.
I said I was confused about the waterfall, the reason for that is because if you read back you say "once they get to the top, the header pool has sides that should be too tall for the little escape artists" so that is why I was ASKING for more information about the waterfall, not criticising it!!

Ok, apologies, I didn't read your original post like that and didn't get the question for more info request from it at all Hence I only responded to the falling on the back comment.

Nevertheless, the waterfall has a series of shallow steps, and the header pool (which I do need to pad out from the base) has a 4 inch vertical wall all the way around the top.
The sides will be built up with rockery stones, but I need to buy them first.
We will plant (probably lavender) behind the waterfall and block their access so they cannot walk behind the feature at all.
That's the plan, but the whole thing is an evolving project anyway

Well maybe I am being a bit over anxious but I would have considered tortoises climbing up a slippery waterfall a hazzard, not necessarily from a drowning aspect but because if they get stuck on their backs in full sun they may die. This was what could have happened to mine the other day if the water bowl had not been in the shade, the water was not the issue except that it made the bowl too slippery for the tort to right itself.
Are the 'pool' areas going to be filled with chipping? I am still not really getting the picture so I look forward to seeing the finished project.

The top bit I have just filled up now, and the bottom section is only about 5mm deep at it's deepest - although the flow is a bit faster than I expected
It's not the best picture because I have just switched it on to show the waterflow, and it's gone cloudy with all of the dust coming off the stones
I'm doubtful that they'll go beyond the bottom section, but if I do see any potential issues then I can rope off the step with some thin mesh to stop them going further.

I am keen to have this in there, we've had a smaller version in their enclosure since we got them and in the few sunny days we did get, they'd just sit in the 'pool' with the water falling onto them
