Just been reading posts on another forum and they were saying the queue was 2 hours long to get in, and then the last update was they were turning people away as they had reached maximum capacity. Glad we decided to stay at home and sort out fishtanks, turtle ponds, housework etc!
Just back, from a very busy show! Talking to Chris Newman this afternoon, one of the organisers, the gate was over 6000!
Yes, at times the place did get very crowded. However, by dint of mobile telephones and stretegic stand venues I did get to meet most of those whom we had hoped to meet.
Feedback from stall holders indicated that they had a very brisk day and takings from sales of Reptiles and dry goods seemed to have exceeded expectation.
My favourite Dart frog breeder had sold his stock completly by 1pm.
That said, there were only a few chelonia for sale Captive bred, Spur thighed Tortoises, Marginated Tortoises and a nice pair of adult Red foots.
Chris, the organiser said they plan to do the show again, but will take on more space to accommodate the crowds.
