I got my dog when he was 18 months old. I didn't like his name so I changed it slightly so as not to confuse him too much, from Micky to Macky
He just didn't seem like a Micky to me.
Torts, I think, are a little different. Not sure my tort, Marly, knows he has a name
And there is gender complication. We often start out thinking we have a female and turns out to be a male (and vice versa) so the name doesn't always fit further down the line. In short, I dont think torts mind their names changed
