when tortoises bite
 

I have only added small thumbnail size- ha excuse the pun ! as it is pretty grotesque and swollen after a very big girlie tortoise decided she preferred my thumb to the dandelion I was holding for her. I would equate it to shutting your finger in the car door it was so painful.

I've had to re- think my strategy for hand feeding this one ! I don't think she had them prior to coming to me and she absolute loves them and made a lunge.

When my finger got in the way I just felt it, so now realise how lucky I was.

I don't think you need to hold the dandelions for her by the sounds of things. She will probably chase you next if she sees you with one!

not that I am a drama queen of course ! it is right on the joint so I forget and then bend it with a sharp intake of breath. You could actually see a blood capillary and shape of the beak, oh it did hurt I admit I burst out crying! (Gordon the band aid king probably didn't as he is not a big girls blouse like me!).
