A late night

I had to sit out until 9.30 last nigh, way past my bedtime, Tabitha decided to start digging at around 3pm and was still digging at 9pm when she finally decided to start laying 5 lovely big round eggs, then at 9.30 she was still filling in, so I helped  at the point I felt that patting over the nest was unnecessary! So I brought her in .

Well done Tabitha. Sounds like she laboured hard!
Has she been anywhere near Ptolome, Suze?

Unfortunately yes, while they were in their trays indoors, he got from his tray to hers  and the rest is history, so to speak. Not what I wanted to happen, hopefully she won’t have another clutch. I won’t be doing anything with these, sorry ! But I really can’t . Thankfully Jemima is showing no sign of being gravid, it’s taken about two or three years of keeping her away from sammy, to stop her laying eggs, she needs to retire :-D

Naughty Ptolome! ;-)
When it’s a worry for having enough space to keep hatchlings that soon grow and always a chance they can turn out male, and it’s so stressful to sell much-loved hatchlings, I understand.
Are you freezing them?

Jemima deserves her retirement. At least you have Phoebe from her and Sammy. :-)

Jemima is now very fidgety, may be it’s just the heat, it’s very hot and humid here.

Hope you didn’t speak too soon, Suze. I’m sure you’ll soon notice if she starts stomping about too much. Fingers crossed she’s just hot and bothered.
It’s been lovely here today with a gentle breeze so it was comfortable sitting out in it.
Did you get much of a thunderstorm over the weekend?

Aww naughty Ptolome. Good that she’s laid though. :-)

Indeed, it was getting a bit cold, so I did wonder if she would keep going.

This weather is a nightmare - one minute hot next cold, next grey, then downpour. tshirt weather, then socks, then shorts , then jeans, then jumper , back to tshirts.....earth dry then soaked, then cracked, flowers drenched, then flowering, then seeding, then it's windy, sunny, hot , too close, then cold,, water butt dried out then over flowing, wake up hot, then cold, then hair damp and lack lustre or too dry, too greasy, too many split ends...one minute cuppa soup, then cola, then water then Vitamin C with colvonia and paracetemal, sore throat, cherry brandy...and then its next day and ground hoggy !
