Ebay stuff from hong kong
has anyone bought anything from hong kong? is there extra to pay?
I was going to buy a right angle finder at £24.95, free postage, will that be all I have to pay. there are no UK sellers by the way |
My dad bought something from Hong Kong and it was free post too. Basicly all you have to pay for is the right angle finder and not the postage.

I bought some camera gear from hong kong, I think its just if you are unlucky enough to be picked out by customs?

I've had stuff from Hong Kong too, never had to pay anything extra its normally marked as gift or sample.
But if you're unlucky then you may have to pay the vat and import duty. |
okay, thanks folks

What the hell is a right angle finder anyhows....? ;)
Dont WH Smith's sell that.....:D ??? |
Hi Alan, i have had stuff delivered from Hong Kong and it has been fine and has got here quicker than some items i have ordered from UK. I think its up to the value of £36 you don't pay import tax, but over that you can do. it depends if your unlucky enough to get a bored customs officer. If you ask the company to mark the parcel as "gift" it is then also exempt from import duty. Most of the Hong Kong company's do this anyway, thats also why you see a lot of things on E-bay for 99p with a high postage cost as then the item is beneath the import tax limit!

I ordered bridesmaids dresses recently form Hong Kong (sisters wedding) and they had free delivery and came suprisingly quickly. I was pleasantly suprised.
