Ethical Sourcing
 
Hey, this is gazinbrid's daughter, im studying an animal management course at college and have an assignment on ethical sourcing in exotic animals...

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it...
i need 2 examples of ethical sourcing and 2 of non ethical sourcing

Hmmm buying captive bred animals or buying wild ones from a well managed population I think are most ethical. Unethical could be buying animals that you don't know the origin of or are from unmanaged/at risk of extinction wild populations.

Plus smuggling endangered species unethical.

I suppose Zoo's could be classed as ethical. Some private collection's of rare species might have come from smuggled animal's.

A good example of umethical sourcing would be the continued plundering of wild (and indeed theft of hatchlings from breeding programmes) of the critically endangered radiated tortoise for supply to the far east pet trade. If you check out the turtle survival alliance website the should be some background.
